Delete your account and data
Akay — by AK Softtech · Last updated: 5 September 2026
You can delete your Akay account and everything stored on your device from inside the app, without contacting anyone. This page explains how, and what gets deleted.
Delete it yourself, from the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open Akay and go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm with your password.
If you use Akay without an account, the same place offers Delete My Data, which erases everything held on the device.
You are given a few seconds to undo. After that the deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed by you or by us.
Request deletion by email
If you can no longer open the app — a lost or wiped phone, for example — email care.aksofttech@gmail.com from the address your account is registered with, asking us to delete it.
We reply within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming the request.
What gets deleted
- Your Akay account — the email address and credential held by Firebase Authentication. Deleted outright, not deactivated.
- Everything stored on your device — budgets, transactions, loans, bills, notes, portfolio holdings, split expenses, credit-book entries, saved cards and vault documents, including their encrypted images.
What is not deleted, and why
If you turned on backup, a backup file may exist in your own Google Drive, in a private area only Akay can see. It is in your Drive, not ours, and we cannot reach in and remove it. To delete it, go to your Google Account, open Data & privacy → Third-party apps & services, select Akay and remove its access and stored data.
Retention
We hold no copy of your financial records at any point, so there is nothing on our side to retain. Account records are removed from Firebase Authentication at the moment of deletion. Deletion requests received by email are kept only as long as needed to action them, and no longer than 30 days.
