These terms cover your use of Akay. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the app and delete it.

What Akay is

Akay is a personal finance tracker and a set of calculators that run on your device. It is not a bank, broker, lender, adviser or payment service. It does not hold, move, lend or invest money, and it is not regulated as a financial institution.

Not financial advice

Everything Akay shows you is arithmetic performed on figures you entered. Projections of future value are estimates based on the return you assumed — not predictions, and not promises.

Government scheme rates, tax slabs and lender terms change, and figures built into the app may be out of date. The AI Assistant can be confidently wrong. Check anything that matters with your bank, your accountant or a qualified adviser before acting on it.

Your account

If you create an account, keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend an account being used to abuse the service or to attack it.

Your data and your backups

Your records live on your device, so they share its fate: losing, resetting or wiping the phone loses them. Backup depends on your Google account and on Google Drive being available, and can fail for reasons outside our control.

We do not guarantee that a backup exists, or that a restore will succeed. Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Acceptable use

Do not use Akay for anything unlawful, and do not attempt to defeat its security, extract keys or credentials, or interfere with the services it depends on.

Government services and other websites

Akay is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any government body or department. Govt Services only gives you shortcuts to official websites, which open inside Akay's built-in browser or in your own browser. What you do on those websites is between you and that website, under its own terms and privacy policy. Akay does not see, store or receive what you enter there, and cannot guarantee that a website or its links are available, current or accurate.

Shopping and partner links

Some festive shopping content may be sponsored or may use affiliate links, marked "Sponsored" in the app. If you buy something through such a link, Akay may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Akay is not affiliated with these stores, does not sell the products, and is not a party to your purchase: prices, offers, delivery, returns and support are the store's responsibility.

Usage statistics and announcements

By using Akay you agree that it collects the anonymous usage statistics described in the Privacy Policy (a random identifier and how often each tool is opened, never your data). Akay may also send you announcements, such as festival greetings, offers and news about new features. You can switch announcements off in Settings > Announcements or in your phone's notification settings, and you can delete any announcement from the in-app notifications list.

Availability and changes

Akay is provided as it is. Features may be added, changed or removed. Anything needing an internet connection — backup, the AI Assistant, exchange rates — depends on third parties and may be unavailable at times.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for financial loss arising from decisions you make in reliance on a calculation, projection or assistant reply in this app, nor for loss of data, nor for periods when the app or a service it depends on is unavailable.

Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. Continuing to use the app after an update means accepting the revised terms, and the date at the top of this page tells you which version you are reading.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
